Hello! My name is Jaime, and I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta
Psychologists. I have the pleasure of providing assessments and counselling services for
children and adolescents at Norum.
I obtained my Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University
of Calgary and have many years of experience supporting children with unique learning and
emotional needs. I am passionate about supporting children and families with a collaborative
and strengths-based approach. I believe that all children can do well when they have the right
tools and supports in place.
I provide comprehensive assessments for preschoolers, school-aged children, and adolescents
that empower them to understand how they learn best. During the assessment process, I work
with children to identify their strengths and areas of challenge. I help parents and teachers
understand why certain things may be hard for them and offer tailored solutions for how to
best support them at home and in the classroom.
I offer counselling for children who are navigating challenges related to big emotions and
behaviours, such as anxiety/worry, anger, stress, depression, attention/executive challenges, or
self-regulation difficulties. I help children to build awareness, strengthen their skills, and grow
their confidence, resilience, and emotional strength with a variety of therapeutic tools. My
training includes EMDR, play therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for children and
teens.
I also enjoy supporting parents in their journey. As a mom to two small children, I have a
practical perspective on the parenting experience and appreciate both the joy and challenges it
brings. I know it’s much easier to read things in a book than to do them in real life, and that
everyone can use some help at times!
On my spare time, I love playing along with the imagination of my little ones, spending time in
the mountains, and doing crafts and messy projects that must always include glitter.
