All families can participate in a variety of different therapeutic modalities to reach their goals and relationship potential. People seek out family counselling for various reasons. Some of these reasons include improving interpersonal relationships, learning practical communication skills, and developing healthy family dynamics. We understand family situations are often varied - whether you are a single parent, traditional or blended family, grandparents or foster parents, there is a place for you here.
How does it work?
It is common for parents to feel under-equipped when dealing with family conflicts or children experiencing psychological, emotional or behavioural problems. Our therapists will work with you to address various types of disputes, teaching practical communication and parenting skills. We also have experience helping parents of children with disabilities or developmental delays and connecting you to additional resources or supports in your community.
What can I expect?
All family members may be involved in the sessions, and our therapists use various family therapeutic approaches. The family structure needs to adapt to unpredictable life cycle changes and unforeseen circumstances daily. Children's and parents' reactions to and their understanding of these changes contribute to the overall health of the family structure.
