Chrissy is a Registered Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She has an undergraduate degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Therapy from Idaho State University. She was licensed by the National Board of Certified Counsellors with school counselling certifications in both Idaho and New Mexico. Upon returning to Calgary, she registered as a psychologist in Alberta.
Chrissy brings over 15 years of experience working with children, youth, adults, and parents, many of which have complex mental health issues. She looks for each person’s and family’s unique strengths to help them develop, change and thrive together through adverse situations. Chrissy brings an extensive knowledge of working with children, youth and families within school settings, government agencies, and private practice. She looks to understand both the biological aspects of behaviour, as well as the social, emotional, and environmental presentation.
Chrissy has been in private practice since 2015 specializing in child development, youth, adults, and parents. She utilizes a variety of modalities including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioural therapy (DBT), Play therapy, biofeedback interventions including EEGer Neurofeedback and Heart Math. She is currently developing additional skills in LENS Neurofeedback and working on her certification in EMDR. She has additional training in Suicide Intervention (ASIST), Threat Assessment (Level 1,2,&3), Crisis Incident Stress Management, None Violent Crisis Intervention, and Child Trauma (NMT).
Chrissy has a special interest in sports/performance psychology, youth, children, and first responders.
